Welcome to The Iona Gallery, Kingussie
Home of the Society of Badenoch & Strathspey Artists
On Now
The first planned exhibition after the closure period forced by the covid-19 crisis is the Annual Members' Summer Festival of Arts and Crafts, this year being the 25th anniversary of the SBSA, from July 29th to August 15th, 1pm to 5pm daily
Up Next
following the summer festival, the next event, from August 17th to 30th is an arts and crafts show by Creative Cairngorms, the organisation for professonals, outlets and galleries in the Cairngorms Natonal Park.
The Iona Gallery is run by the Society of Badenoch & Strathspey Artists, whose membership is drawn from artists and craftspeople across our area, in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. The gallery mounts a full programme of exhibitions and events, mainly with exhibitions through the spring to autumn months and workshops and community events in winter.
The facilities are sometimes available for hire for private exhibitions, though if you wish to book the main gallery for your own show it is advisable to do so well in advance.
The facilities include a substantial main gallery space including three moveable 'walls' that can be used to divide or control flow. The gallery is complete with j-rail hanging system. There are also a number of box plinths for displaying three dimensional pieces.
The small gallery - which is also the access route into the main space - is suitable for smaller one-man or small group exhibitions, with good wall space and also has the j-rail hanging system.
There is a small sink and kettle area plus mugs and glasses.
For community events, we have 80 chairs stowed in a large storage cupboard, and a pull down screen, though we are currently without a digital projector. There are also eight tables.
The Society is a registered Scottish Charity, reg no SC046852. The Iona Gallery, Duke Street, Kingussie, PH21 1JG
