Fabric Printing Workshops
with Louise Worthy
A unique chance to attend a workshop in this area with Sutherland-based textile artist Louise Worthy.

Block Printing on to fabric

Create designs for fabrics, carve blocks and print simple repeat patterns. Plain cotton tote bags and a selection of fabric will be available to print, or bring along an item of clothing to update.
Suitable for complete beginners and those with more experience.
Saturday 16th July 10am – 4pm Iona Gallery Cost £50

Hand Print and make a Lampshade

Print fabric for a lampshade using plants, paper stencils and specialised fabric inks – using the fun method of mono-printing. Use your fabric to make a lampshade which can be used on a base or as a ceiling pendant. Go home with your very own bespoke lampshade and all the skills to print and create more beautiful shades (and other printed fabric items like bags and aprons).
Sunday 17th July, 10am – 4pm Iona Gallery Cost £50

The Iona Gallery is run by the Society of Badenoch & Strathspey Artists, whose membership is drawn from artists and craftspeople across our area, in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. The gallery mounts a full programme of exhibitions and events, mainly with exhibitions through the spring to autumn months and workshops and community events in winter.
The facilities are sometimes available for hire for private exhibitions, though if you wish to book the main gallery for your own show it is advisable to do so well in advance.
The facilities include a substantial main gallery space including three moveable 'walls' that can be used to divide or control flow. The gallery is complete with j-rail hanging system. There are also a number of box plinths for displaying three dimensional pieces.
The small gallery - which is also the access route into the main space - is suitable for smaller one-man or small group exhibitions, with good wall space and also has the j-rail hanging system.
There is a small sink and kettle area plus mugs and glasses.
For community events, we have 80 chairs stowed in a large storage cupboard, and a pull down screen, though we are currently without a digital projector. There are also eight tables.
The Society is a registered Scottish Charity, reg no SC046852. The Iona Gallery, Duke Street, Kingussie, PH21 1JG
