I went to Glasgow Art School from 1972 to 1976 and studied drawing and painting and textiles as a second subject.
I then came to Kingussie in 1978 and have stayed there for 42 years! For 36 of these years I worked as an Art teacher in Kingussie High School and the feeder primaries.
Since I've retired 6 years ago I've taken a lot more interest in producing art work- I mostly use acrylics on canvas and I also like producing pieces using fabrics collected over the years and various embroidery techniques.
At the moment my subject matter seams to be focused around hens and rickety old chairs! I especially like trying to reproduce the textures of the birds wings and the roughness of the wood.
